Other options for fastening panels may include cam locks (see examples left and right) that can be pre-installed, making assembly and joining easy and more secure.

The Sing cam-lock panel solution is a high-demand solution for panels that are routinely assembled and disassembled, especially in moveable walls, trade show booths, and various wall cladding applications.

Why Sing Panels and Norse Latches?

  1. Align the Panels
    Place the two panels edge-to-edge so the latch side (with the hook) lines up with the receiver side.
  2. Insert a Hex Key
    Each latch has an opening for a 7/32″ hex key (Allen key) or T-handle. Please provide your own tool, as it is not included.
  3. Turn to Engage
    Rotate the hex key clockwise. This swings the hook on the latch into the receiver on the adjoining panel. Continue turning until the panels are snug. Do not overtighten.
  4. Check the Connection
    Once engaged, the two panels will be tightly locked together, with no gap at the seam. If they seem loose the cam lock is not fastened correctly.
  5. To Disconnect
    Insert the hex key again and rotate counterclockwise until the hook clears the receiver. Pull the panels apart gently

The problems associated with kitchen cabinets do not become apparent until you start to play with the dimensions and increasing the raw material.

How to Build a Wall

Building an interior wall, either fixed or temporary is an all-day affair for the do-it-yourselfer. Using patented Sing products you can build an insulated lightweight, high-strength sound-deadening wall in minutes.

There are several methods for building a wall using Sing products.

#1 – Sing Sandwich

This is the least expensive and most common way to build a wall using 4 ft. x 8 ft.

No frame is necessary

#2 – Sing Panel

Unlike Sing Sandwich panels, the Sing Panel has an embedded solid wood frame around all exterior edges of the panel. Standard width of the solid wood edging is 1.5 inches but could be any size to meet your specifications.

Again, many options abound for connecting Sing Panels but you have the advantage of having a solid wood edge to which you could nail, screw or use many alternative connection methods available to the craftsmen, millworks and contractors who use them.

While toenailing or screwing may be the least expensive quick fix, thru-bolt joining is an effective option because of the solid wood edge, allowing you to set up and tear down without damaging the panel’s edges.
